Our History

A legacy of love spanning over a century

From Humble Beginnings

The story of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart is one of faith, courage, and unwavering dedication to God's call.

In 1882, in a small town in France, a young woman named Marie-Louise felt an irresistible call to dedicate her life entirely to God and to serving others in His name. Inspired by a profound devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, she gathered a small group of like-minded women who shared her vision.

Despite numerous obstacles and limited resources, these pioneering women established their first community, dedicating themselves to prayer, education, and care for the poor. Their love for Christ's Sacred Heart became the foundation of all they did.

"God has placed in my heart a fire that cannot be extinguished. It must spread to others, warming the coldest hearts with His divine love."

— Mother Marie-Louise, Foundress
